Iron Age Cookery
- Introduction to Celtic Cooking & Visit to Herb Spiral
- Threshing Spelt Wheat to separate grains from husks
- Grinding Grain on Quern Stones to make Flour
- Mixing Dough & Baking Bread Loaves over the Hearth
Hoof to Garment
- Carding fleece with Carders to make Woollen Rolags
- Spinning Rolags to make Yarn
- Weaving on Warp Weighted Looms to make Cloth
- Dyeing Yarn Vibrant Colours from Herbs and Plants
Science of Herbs
- Discovering & Gathering Plants in the Herb Spiral
- Charm Making with a variety of Native British Herbs
- Dyeing with Plants
- Medicine making Ointments to Poultices
Trade & Barter
After lunch, children will Role Play as Celtic Characters and use Numerical Problem Solving to trade a range of real Celtic artefacts. The children then exchange pound coins for reconstructed Celtic coins to trade in the Dragon's Den (shop) with a wide range of gifts made by Celtic Artists,Woodsmen,Wildlife Experts and Celtic Harmony volunteers.
