Discover the Excitement of Exploring & Learning in a Woodland Environment

Suitable for all ages and abilities, often children who find the classroom setting challenging will excel at Forest School.

Children spend a half day every week for a minimum of six weeks in the woods lead by Celtic Harmony Forest School Practitioners. The first session of activities takes place in the children’s educational setting such as school playground or playing fields. The successive sessions take place in a woodland close to the school or in the woods at Celtic Harmony Camp.

Games are played and small achievable tasks are set, allowing children’s self-esteem and independence skills to develop. The day is tailored to children’s mood, abilities and learning styles.

Alex Taylor, Head Teacher, explains:

"The increased confidence for the children was carried back to school, their willingness to attempt new challenges independently and the ability to work collaboratively were particular benefits. We will now ensure that every child who attends Birchwood Children's Centre will have this unique and wonderful learning opportunity."
